Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) today announced that it has been awarded ISO 27001:2013 certification for information security management. This certification confirms that all sensitive customer and partner information is secured and managed at the highest level.
“Protecting information is a top priority for DRC, especially in regard to securing high volumes of sensitive information,” said DRC Chief Quality Officer Lisa Peterson-Nelson. “When managing and transmitting private data over the Internet, there are enormous potential consequences if it is not handled properly. Ensuring the safety of that data is integral for the protection of the company, our customers, and our partners.”
ISO 27001:2013 certification means that DRC has been independently verified and awarded the only internationally recognized and most prestigious information security standard available. The independent certification process, conducted by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), required DRC to:
- Thoroughly evaluate its own information security risks, including the impact of identified threats and vulnerabilities.
- Design and implement a comprehensive set of information security controls and other risk management measures to address security risks within its own infrastructure as well as its corporate environment.
- Implement an overarching program to ensure that the information security controls meet the information security needs for both DRC and its customers on an ongoing basis.
By implementing the latest 2013 version, DRC’s Information Security Management System is compliant with the latest best practices, controls, and industry standards.
